We invite you to be part of the protection and social distancing strategies that organized rural communities have decided to implement in their territories as consequence of Covid-19. The members of these communities have their own preventative practices based on ancestral knowledge which they have chosen to implement as a collective.
With your solidarity we will be able to help to provide resources not produced within these communities, such as personal protective equipment, training activities and preparation of their pandemic contingency and management plans, as well as reinforcing their community gardens to diversify their production of healthy food.
Help us support people who have not been able to continue their work and who are currently struggling to meet basic needs due to lack of income.
There are children and elderly adults who without your support will struggle to obtain enough food or medicines during this stage of isolation.
With your collaboration you can bring a smile to their faces and some tranquility to their lives.
This campaign is being carried out by Rikcharina Foundation, an NGO based in the city of Cuenca in Ecuador that has been working for more than 20 years on Local Development projects.
The proposal will have the following results:
1. Families will have access to products to improve their food security.
2. Families and communities will have materials to guarantee their protection (PPE).
3. Families will have resources to bring local gardens and farms into production to strengthen community resiliency in both urban and rural setting.
4. Communities will develop their own inclusive contingency and resilience plan to face the pandemic.
